Spain add-on (Seville & Granada for 6 nights)

Andalusia, in southern Spain, is a great destination for extending a tour of Morocco. The Moors controlled parts of Spain from 711 AD until 1492 AD when the leader of the last Muslim stronghold in Granada surrendered to the armies of a recently united Christian Spain (after the marriage of Ferdinand II of Aragón and Isabella I of Castile, the "Catholic Monarchs").

For those interested, we will continue our tour with a six-night trip departing from Marrakech on June 30 (Morocco tour ending date) and arriving in Seville, Spain. This add-on will include 3 nights in Seville and 3 nights in Granada.

Tour highlights

Explore two fascinating cities in the Spanish region of Andalusia – Seville and Granada where Spanish and Moorish historical sites, flamenco dancing and tapas are a way of life

Visit the Alhambra in Granada, a large Moorish fortress built in the 13th to 15th centuries. It’s one of the most-visited sites in all of Spain.

Tour the Catedral de Seville (the largest Gothic building in all of Europe) and its Moorish bell tower La Giralda - built by the Moors at the end of the 12th century as the minaret of a large mosque

Discover the mysteries of the neighborhoods of Santa Cruz in Seville (the old Jewish quarter) and the Albaicin (the old Moorish quarter) and the Sacromonte (known for its gypsy heritage) in Granada

In Seville, stroll through the gardens of the Parque de Maria Luisa and then enjoy one of the most beautiful plazas I have ever visited – Plaza de España

We will join several walking tours in both cities that include the main tourist areas

Enjoy a tapas walking tour visiting several historic tapas bars with an insider local guide who will teach you ‘how to do tapas like a local’

Marvel at a flamenco performance in Granada, which has its own flamenco style called Zambra

And that’s just the beginning…………..
